Cradle
“In time, I created a vocabulary of images, slowly adding each one with care, making sure that it complied with my notion of an Icon, forms that through repetition over the years have made their way into the collective unconscious. I added variations on the vessel—the tub, the bell, the boat. And of course, the human torso—not the entire figure in action, seated or walking — that would be too illustrative and time-bound — but the torso as a sculptural form, a fragment of the whole, an extension of the original vessel.”
